10 Days Trip from Rabat to Marrakech

Day 1: Rabat

Arrive at Rabat airport and transfer to your accommodation for the night before starting your trip from Rabat to Marrakech. Overnight in Rabat – a riad inside the medina (old walled city) 

Day 2: Rabat City Guide Tour – Chefchaouen.

City Guide Tour to include the highlights of Rabat and transfer to Chefchaouen. Overnight in Chefchaouen – a riad inside the medina (old walled city).

Day 3 : Chefchouan – Fes

Free morning to explore this relaxed and friendly small medina painted in hues of blue. Lunch in the central square and afternoon transfer to Fes. Overnight in Fes – a riad inside the medina (old walled city). We continue our trip from Rabat to Marrakech in the next day.

Day 4: Fes

Walking City Guide Tour to include the highlights of Fes on that day as it is programmed in this trip from Rabat to Marrakech. Overnight in Fes – a riad inside the medina (old walled city). 

Day 5: Fes day trip

Day trip to Meknes, Moulay Idriss, and Roman ruins of Volubilis. Overnight in Fes – a riad inside the medina (old walled city). What is unique about this trip from Rabat to Marrakech is that you will visit the imperial cities of Morocco. 

Day 6: Fes – Camel trekking in Erg Chebbi

Transfer across the Middle Atlas to the dunes of the Erg Chebbi sand sea that lie close to the Berber villages of Merzouga, Khamlia, and Hassilabed. Along the route pass through Ifrane, Azrou, cedar forests of the Middle Atlas where Barbary Macaques live, Midelt, Ziz valley gorge, Erfoud, and Rissani. Arrive at the edge of the Erg Chebbi and camel trek in the dunes for sunset. Overnight in Erg Chebbi – Desert Camp of choice. 

Day 7: Erg Chebbi – Skoura

Wake up early to watch the sunrise and, if you overnight in the deep camp, camel trek back to the dune line. After breakfast, we continue our trip from Rabat to Marrakech by heading to Skoura Palm Grove with a detour to see Todra Gorge which is said to be the highest oasis valley gorge in Morocco. Along the route pass through Boumalne Dades and the area ‘Rose Valley’ where highly fragrant roses blossom in the hedgerows during April and May. Overnight in Skoura – a small hotel with a pool in the palm grove.

Day 8: Skoura – Marrakech

Transfer through the administration town of Ouarzazate and head north to visit the World Heritage Site of Ait Benhaddou, one of Morocco’s most spectacular fortified villages (ksour) – walk through the village to the top for 360degree views. Continue along Ounila Valley, and over Tizi-n-Telouet, to visit Kasbah of el Glaoui in the Berber village of Telouet. From Telouet cross the highest Atlas road pass of Tizi-n-Tichka, with far-reaching views, to reach Marrakech late afternoon/early evening. Overnight in Marrakech – a riad inside the medina (old walled city). 

Day 9: Exploring Marrakech

Walking City Guide Tour of the highlights of Marrakech. Transfer back to Rabat or, for the best use of time, fly out of Marrakech. Overnight in Rabat – a riad inside the medina (old walled city). The good time didn’t end, and also our trip from Rabat to Marrakech didn’t end. 

Day 10: Rabat Airport

Transfer to Rabat Airport and depart. End of our trip from Rabat to Marrakech.
